Selene Wang

Selene is a student at the California Institute of Technology majoring in Chemistry. As the recipient of the Harvard Cup, awarded for the highest cumulative GPA in her class, she exemplifies academic excellence. With advanced proficiency in French and a strong foundation in chemistry and physics, Selene is exceptionally equipped to support students across STEM and language subjects.

Meet Selene 

Selene is a high-achieving and driven student with a strong passion for chemistry and biology. She is a National Merit Finalist, a U.S. Presidential Scholars candidate, and an AP Scholar with Distinction. During her time in high school, she served as captain of the Model United Nations team, earning multiple Best Delegate awards, and led the Speech & Debate team as a three-time state qualifier. She was also the Varsity Captain of the Academic League team and served as Vice President of the All Girls STEM Society, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering young women in STEM.

Selene has conducted advanced research in both biophysics at the University of San Diego and biochemistry at the Scripps Research Institute, contributing to cutting-edge scientific inquiry as a high school student. In addition to her academic and extracurricular pursuits, she was a committed peer tutor through her school’s SAGE program and coached middle school students in math club.

Selene is especially enthusiastic about mentoring younger students, always striving to foster curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning in those she teaches.​
